go to your ao3 statistics page and sort by year, then by kudos. list the top kudosed fic per year.
my ao3 account only goes back to 2010 and there's only one fic for that year. (there are fics i never migrated to ao3.)
also, because this post crossed my dash again, I thought I'd look at the kudos to hits ratio so I've included that as well. according to the marketing professionals in the linked, anything better than a 1:30 engagement ratio is a smashing hit but that fandom frequently sees 1:10 rates (something business can only dream of?). anyway, I was curious to see what my ratios are.

- my H/D works have ratios ranging from 1:8 (Quickie) to 1:20 (heartbeats in technicolour), with a median of 1:13,5 and an average of 1:13,6. honestly i'm very happy with these ratios, esp given two of them are for art.
- my R/S works have ratios ranging from 1:8 (Of Tinsel and Nice Starts) and 1:31 (Our Fates are Devious by Heart), with a median of 1:14 and an average of 1:16,5. The average ends up quite high because I have four works higher than 1:20 but also like, drastically higher, lol. the two low scoring fics are weird ones too, Our Fates was a reverse bang fic and nothing like my usual style, and a fic that scored 1:27 is a crack fic.
- my HP rarepair fics are very average, with ratios ranging from 1:5 to 1:20. That covers Albus/Scorpius, Hugo/Scorpius, Teddy/James, and Percy/Oliver, and that one Ron/Cormac fic. Incidentally, it's the Ron/Cormac fic that's got a kudos to hits ratio of 1:5.
- MCU fics range all over the place. "worst" scoring fic is Tony is a suit porn guy at 1:34 and best scoring fic is We're Sure to Grow Old (Together) at 1:8.
- small fandom fics:
-- both my Good Omens fics are currently at 1:5, which is amazing????
-- my two Temeraire fics are 1:4 and 1:6, respectively, which is also amazing???
-- my ancient 00Q fic is at 1:13 which is also nothing to scoff at?? I hadn't expected that.
-- my Volstovic Cycle fics I didn't expect to have great ratios because the fandom is so tiny it's very hard to even get 50 hits on a fic, but actually: the ratios range from 1:6, to 1:17 with most fics being 1:6 to 1:8. I think those numbers are skewed though because we're such a small fandom and we have people commenting but not kudosing and vice versa, and there is a good number of comments as well.
-- my YOI fics, which are mainly Emil/Mickey fics (rarepair), have ratios ranging from 1:6 to 1:12.
- so the conclusion must be that rarepair/small fandom fics are SUPER appreciated. I haven't done the math, but looking at the numbers it looks like my average kudos to hits ratio is ~1:15, which is pretty neat to me - in general about one in fifteen people like my stuff enough to leave me a kudos. neat! also, i'm not really surprised about which fics have a lower engagement ratio because those are all fics that I wasn't 100% happy with or just outright fics that aren't up to my usual standards or in some other way stick out.
