rectober #4
Oct. 4th, 2013 10:54 pmwhy I liked this: this not so anon person is one of my favourite artists in fandom and also in general; i just really love her organic (and stylised) drawing style. maybe it's the fact it's all done in pencil (or a brush that looks a lot like a pencil) ? it just feels you can reach out and touch everything. it's very grounded. ANYWAY, that wasn't actually what i wanted to say. this comic is adorable and hilarious - loved the last panel, cracked me up when i got there. it was so unexpected and i just. <3 ron's and hermione's faces were brilliant and draco was fantastic. i particularly loved his expressions towards the end, there was some lovely stuff going on there. blushing <3
there's this one wip i'm reading that updates every two weeks, and today was an update day. <3

Summary: Once upon a time, in a far-away kingdom known as Suffolk County Legal Aid, there was a really awesome prince by the name of Wade Wilson. Because he was a noble and intelligent prince, Wade really thought he knew everything he wanted out of life.
And then, Wade found out he was super wrong.
Why you want to read this: does anyone remember when I recced Motion Practice? and the sequel, Permanency? This is kind of the sequel to that, but again with a different character focus. Where Motion Practise was all about Clint (and Clint/Phil) and Permanency was all about Bruce (and Bruce/Tony), I have actually no idea what Admissions is about except "confused bisexual Wade". I feel like that sums the fic up pretty well.
Anyone who's picked up a deadpool comic knows about deadpool and breaking the fourth wall, and i've read enough mediocre deadpool fanfic to be thoroughly ticked off when fanfic writers try the same and fail tragically. some things just don't translate over from comics to fanfic. not this fic. i wouldn't say there's much of breaking the fourth wall, but there are little hints, or nudges, sprinkled throughout that just make me grin. i hesitate to say that this girl is a comics expert because i dunno what she's read, but i can tell that at the very least she read cable & deadpool. i'm completely in love with all the canon references and i'm completely in love with this incarnation of wade, which is what i feel is very true for what he could've been like had he not gone into supervillainry/heroicism. i'm also very much in love with nate, who's also someone that rings very true. i love those two idiots to bits.
