Summary: For many trees, there is no death; there is growing, and there is what comes after growing. A tree that falls in the forest sprouts new life from its body as it lies, crumbling into leaf and mould. A tree that falls to corruption may send forth shoots year after year, decade after decade, waiting until there is one shoot that is strong enough, wise enough, to resist that corruption and grow tall. Unless they fall to axe and saw, a tree may live forever. So Wood-Queens and their people do not die. They sleep, and they forget. They are patient. All things come to fruitfulness in time, and what is time, to a tree?
Kasia suffers intensely throughout Uprooted; this is her path back to herself.
This is a goergous, beautiful, wonderful fic. It's not as depressing as it sounds, I found it rather life-affirming, actually - seeing Kasia go from someone deep in a depressive hole to start living again.

I certainly hope so
Summary: Solya finds himself at loose ends after the events of canon, and turns to the time-honoured diversions of reconnecting with an old ex, goading his arch-rival, and matchmaking his arch-rival’s ex (not necessarily in that order). Oh, and protecting the king, of course.
This is a brilliant and fun fic, just the perfect thing to read after reading the one I liked above. Humorous, fantastic, perfect. Lots of banter, eventual hatesex (though not *truly* hate), background Kasia/Agnieszka, a wonderfully fleshed out Solya (who I have to admit I barely remember from canon, lmao) and just. Please put this in your eyeballs if you want some fun in your life.
