I haven't had as much time to read this month as I wanted to (both
hd_fan_fair and
rs_games are posting!), but I have managed to feast my eyes on some things. A few fanfair recs for now, and then I'll do games recs later and more fanfair recs if I get around to it.
I'm not gonna lie, I have prioritised reading the fics that came out of my prompts over the other fics, so that's my bias laid bare.

Why you should read this I loved this - this was sweet and delightful and I adored both Harry and Draco in it. I particularly loved Draco's little speech to Harry in the hallway, declaring that they shouldn't date for the kids but for themselves. ♥ all the little ways in which they fell in love and realised it, Draco being in denial...it's just pure delight. ♥

Summary: <>In space, Harry is Just-Harry. He is also an idiot, a handyman, and a glorified battery.
Why you want to read this: Hey so this is amazing!!! THE SCIENCE! it is incredible how well the writer managed to marry hp magic and science in this fic, and also made it feel like I was reading a classic "hard" SF novel. Literally the only thing I could possibly be upset about is the length, once I realised the fic was almost over I made a sad noise because I just wanted to see more of the science and the crew and Harry and Draco's life on the ship. Anyway, I loved everything about this, and I loved especially how inevitable Harry and Draco's relationship seemed; they'd somehow been orbiting closer and closer to each other throughout life until their trajectories aligned and now that they're together it's easy and so, so right. It's beautiful. I also have to admit my heart got racing towards the end, I'm stupidly scared of heights/falling and space, so when Harry was vividly describing the thrill he felt spacewalking I was just nope-ing out of it :'''D Please five this a read, particularly if you love SF, you won't regret it. Also: Harry is a rock nerd. ♥

Additional Tags: Minor Hermione Granger/Ron Weasley, H/D Career Fair 2017, Blushing, Mortuary Beautician Draco Malfoy, Makeover, death anniversary, Comic, Post-Hogwarts, Smitten Harry Potter, Humor, Celebrations, Art
Summary: Draco Malfoy is hired to organise a funeral party on the anniversary of Harry Potter's first death.
This of course has everything to do with how he is a true artiste with lace, fripperies, and dead bodies, and absolutely nothing to do with why Harry Potter keeps inviting him out to dinner.
Why you should read this: as always, this mystery artist delivers on the whimsy and sweet and this was no exception. It's particularly inspired to have Harry hold a funeral party for himself, and even more for Draco to be the most renowned funeral attire - for the dead - designer! There were a bunch of lovely lines in there as well: Draco defending his profession by saying the dead don't talk back was well aimed. Lovely read, and the art is on point; pansy's snark, Draco's sneers and Harry's eternal confusion were all spot on. ♥
