Summary: AU. Dean is a detective with the Lawrence P.D. with a huge crush on Cas, a C.S.I. in the department. Dean, and his partner Rufus, make up the P.S.I.T. - Psychopathological and Sociopathological Investigative Team. A vigilante killer begins posting his executions on YouTube, correcting items that justice has failed. Dean and Rufus are assigned to the case and Cas is their appointed C.S.I. They race against the clock to solve the case as the victims become higher profile, and Rufus dusts off his matchmaking skills.
Why I liked it: it's sweet, I liked that the fic wasn't about them getting together but rather about the case, I liked that they'd known each other for years and rufus is hilarious.
Why you don't want to read this: the solution of the case was a bit meh. This fic could easily have been double the length and not suffered for it.

Why you want to read this: I haven't even seen pacific rim, but this was great. I love AUs and I love good AUs even more. This one took the characters and the relationships from the canon and put them into a different setting and still made it work and feel natural. Can be read as incest or just brothers being brothers. There are some golden lines in there you don't want to miss.
Why you don't want to read this: it's a pacific rim crossover. I never would've read it if I hadn't betaed it, and even then D sent me a document titled "pacific  rimming" like omg (spoiler alert: there is no rimming)
