first of all, i just wanted to link to the H/D writers friending meme. i don't think there's any H/D people on my flist who don't know of it, but well :P
then there's the rec party at
00q_bb...i need to get my arse in gear and go rec something. it's a little slow but i think that's the holidays speaking...
and then there's the snowflake challenge (
snowflake_challenge), which i thought looked interesting. i haven't done anything for it (obv) and i've been a little busy, but it's saturday and i have the weekend off. i'm probably not gonna do ALL the challenges and i really cannot be arsed reporting back to the comm to say i did it, but hey - let's see how it goes.
day 1 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
1) Indiana Lupin and the Search for the Conqueror (NC-17, Remus/Sirius, 67k)
I think this will always be one of my favourite works. <3 it's adventure! and crack! and porn! seriously, what more do you want?
2) Here Now, Gone Yesterday (or Back To The Future) (R, Teddy/James, Remus/Sirius, 21k)
This is a more recent fic of mine, but i do love it very much. it's maybe one of the more 'representative' works of mine? or not? because i write different things, but what i like about this one is that it's very clearly about relationships and family and then i just went and threw a bucket of angst at it. And the one thing i *do* like to write about is family and relationships, so there's that.
3) He Eats Snow For Breakfast (PG-13, Avengers gen, 25k)
I'm really only linking to this one because i'm still in the phase of 'i just finished a long piece of work and i'm all giddy about it' :P but also because i tried something new with this one, but like i said before, i like to write about people and relationships.
day 2 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate
them.
1) The perks of Constancy by superpol (Mature, Bond/Q, 6k)
Asexual!Q. That is all. (I liked it also for other reasons, but there's not enough ace!fic out there. and this one is lovely. <3)
2) Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Mob Bosses by kleinefee92 (Teen and up, Hank/Alex (XMFC), 41k)
I think this is the only piece of work in which there's a likeable Scott Summers. he's a child, so that explains it. XD this is an adorable and lovely fic and i just can't with all the cute and i love Hank and Alex so much (he's a dance instructor!) and baby Scott and baby Logan and akdghjafkkakfssfksdfksjgksjgfkjsdsgadækljfsdfbhfvcjajclddjsjadlsfjkdsfdnkasjfhksjghskjhfldskjfkdffk*ded*
3) you, maybe not essentially you, somebody else by dorcas_gustine (Mature, Tony/Jensen (the losers/avengers crossover), 10k)
there is nothing about this fic which is not perfect.
