Sorted alphabetically. (until i just started adding fic by date read.)

The observant observer will notice that I've put up 'top ten' and 'top five's. The observant observer will also notice that there are, to date, six top fives and fourteen top tens. originally, it was not so. i just lost track. I JUST LOVE FIC OKAY. that being said, i don't think the other fics are any 'lesser', i just, have varying levels of enthusiasm? XD or something. i wouldn't rec a fic if i didn't like it, so don't take it personally when i award random top tens and top fives.

Happy reading. Highlight to view spoilers.

All His Saints by Setissma
Summary: Harry has been letting himself go, and when Draco finds out he's determined to give him his life back.
Why you want to read this: bookgeek!draco is <3. how they interact and how their relationship slowly develops is lovely.
Why you don't want to read this: there's some coding fail or something in the middle of the text, that can be a bit distracting. also there's Remus/Hermione in the background (which is a major squick for me).

Arctic Fox by [info]scrtkpr nbsp;
Summary: Harry and Draco are both training as aurors. I think it's EWE or written before the last few books came out.
Why you want to read this: because it's not OOC, the banter is lovely and so spot on and you want to squish everyone.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Balloon Theory by [info]142978
Summary: Harry finds Draco abandoned in the Muggle World and takes him back. He discovers that Draco doesn't have any magic and together they try to find a way to bring it back.
Why you want to read this: the way their friendship develops is pretty lovely, Draco's new approach to life is very realistic and he's pretty down to earth generally. Their relationship is also lovely.
Why you don't want to read this: I thought the ending was a little weird. What with the whole bonding thing - why didn't we see them actually being couple-y? no kissing being sneaked or similar? made me wonder. it was all very 'oh now we have to be together'.

Bite Me, Hate Memes by [info]pir8fancier (the sequel is just as brilliant.) top five
Summary: Draco doesn't like change, but suddenly everything is changing.
Why you want to read this: AU, Draco's POV. I've come to really like stories from Draco's POV. This Draco is snarky and sassy and witty and batshit insane (I still haven't figured out how exactly his brain works). It's lovely complex and yet very spot on. Also, it's made me laugh so so so much, which was bad at the time because I was sick and laughing hurt. lovely.
Why you don't want to read this: Features slut!Blaise. I thought he was great here, but I know slut!Blaise is a major squick/pet peeve for many.

Boys Don't Cry by [info]furiosity and [info]pixies
Summary: Harry has a vision of Sirius being tortured. This time, he uses the two-way mirror and Sirius doesn't get killed. Later, Draco Malfoy shows up at 12 Grimmauld Places intending to kill him, but Sirius, Remus and Harry take him as prisoner.
Why you want to read this: I thought it was so LOLworthy that Draco was taken as prisoner. Also, bonus points for R/S. Anyway, there's actually plot in this and i like to think that this is what could've happened. very lovely overall, even if there is of course drama.
Why you don't want to read this: there were a few OOC moments.

Creevey at Large by [info]nopejr nbsp; top five
Summary: At the five year anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, Dennis Creevey decides to go back in time to save Colin from dying.
Why you want to read this: because this is brilliant. It's time travel and plot and hilarity and lovely and Dennis Creevey is possibly my new favourite HP character now. It's well worth a read, despite what I said below. Also, BLAISE OH GOD BLAISE. I love this fic, have I mentioned that?
Why you don't want to read this: H/D isn't the focus here, despite this being written for a H/D big bang. (Slut!Blaise, but don't let that stop you)

Decoy Dilemma by [info]dysonrules
Summary: A criminal has vowed revenge on Harry and Draco. They see themselves forced to disguise themselves as their sons in an attempt to catch him.
Why you want to read this: because it's all sorts of lovely and funny. Also, there's actually plot and stuff!
Why you don't want to read this: Albus/Scorpius. normally not something i like in a H/D fic, but here it's quite brilliantly done.

DIY Messiah by [info]scoradh nbsp; top ten
Summary: Harry's life is pretty bland, though he's generally happy. Then something incredible happens that ends up crushing him.
Why you want to read this: It's realistic and completely plausible. Also, as someone with a fuckload of siblings, I can only grin and giggle at the way Harry's and Draco's children behave.
Why you don't want to read this: It took a long, long, while for Harry and Draco to become more than just friends. Very long.

Draco Malfoy and his Unknown Fate by jitterbug1
Summary: Draco is disowned after accidentally coming out as gay to his father. He starts making friends with Harry and eventually their relationship develops.
Why you want to read this: It's written from Draco's point of view. While he is every bit the slytherin he is, there are also a lot more sides to him that shine through. Also, disowned!Draco is forced to rethink some of his actions and he overall becomes a nicer person.
Why you don't want to read this: The chapters are very short and it gets annoying to have to click forward to the next chapter after half a minute of reading. Also, there's a lot of questions unanswered and the sequel (which I'm not linking to) isn't completed and never will be.

Draco Malfoy, It's your Lucky Day by [info]faithwood nbsp; top ten
Summary: Draco is wandless and injured, Harry looks dead and Draco has no recollection of what happened.
Why you want to read this: Hello mystery! Nice plot there. Also, there were some nice LOLs and loveliness and the angst wasn't overdone. And Draco is <3
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Drawing Down the Moon by [info]scoradh nbsp; top ten
Summary: Blaise dumped Draco and Harry is helping him win him back.
Why you want to read this: It's 80 year old Ron telling the tale of Harry and Draco to his grandchildren. It's very sweet and funny and lovely, and at the end I had to cry a little because it was just so lovely and sad and sweet.
Why you don't want to read this: It's written before DH so all the made up children and grandchildren are a bit confusing to begin with.

Fool Rushes In by oldenuf2nobetter
Summary: Harry and Draco are on the way back to civilisation after Harry (foolhardily and stubbornly) went to get him back from some baddies.
Why you want to read this: It's got action and loveliness and bad pick up lines. Also, love Draco embarrassing himself over the phone.
Why you don't want to read this: I don't think it's plausible for Draco to have been that high on the painkillers (even though he's not eaten for four days) since sleep and considerable time happened since he took them to the point he was "high".
Forgive Those Who Trespass by [info]lomonaaeren nbsp; top five
Summary: Ron and Hermione vanish along with the Department of Mysteries. When Harry embarks on the search for them, he finds a mute Draco - the only one who might know what happened and why.
Why you want to read this: I think it's brilliant. I really admire the wit and time that must've gone into plotting this and making it work. Also, all the issues it could've had that would've made it bad!fic were actually addressed and treated accordingly - what could've been just a gorey piece of random crap turned out to be a really impressive piece of work.
Why you don't want to read this: GORE. Really, nightmare-inducing gore. If you're in any way squeamish, do not read.

Goodbye to Yesterday by [info]furiosity nbsp; top ten
Summary: Harry puts Draco in Azkaban and Draco is determined that Harry is going to pay.
Why you want to read this: well written fic that features rejected, hurt, misunderstood and troubled Draco, going about life in the wrong way.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Hard to Forget by [info]khateh
Summary: Harry buys a rude parrot for a pet and soon discovers that the parrot is smarter than he should be.
Why you want to read this: Amnesic!parrot!draco is brilliant. There was nice plot work and Draco's character was wonderful.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Heads You Do, Tails You Don't by Tori Siikanen top ten
Summary: Harry uses a time-turner to get his birthday off and go celebrate. When he runs into Draco he dares him to go out in the Muggle World with him.
Why you want to read this: Apart from being pr0ny and very much so, it's bittersweet and well written. There were brilliant moments.
Why you don't want to read this: no happy ending.

Homecoming by [info]novembersnow
Summary: Ginny wants a divorce and to get away from it all, Harry accepts a temporary teaching position at Hogwarts. Where, of course, he runs into Potion Master Draco Malfoy.
Why you want to read this: Because adult bickering is almost as much fun as teenage bickering. It's all very well done and there's a nice surprise down the road. Draco was lovely - my heart ached for him.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Lettered by [info]pir8fancier top ten
Summary: Draco starts an anonymous correspondence with Harry in their seventh year.
Why you want to read this: it's funny and touching and so very real.
Why you don't want to read this: it's over a bit too fast.
This fic has two sequels; first Lush Life and then Home Again, Home Again.
Why you want to read them: It's 22 years later and Draco is the sassy editor of a gay porn magazine, as well as completely out of touch with the wizarding world - when he runs into Harry again. It's a lovely follow up to Lettered.
Why you don't want to read them: the sequels are written in first person, Draco's POV. I'm not much for first person, and it took some getting used to. In addition, if you liked Lettered the way it is, it's frankly not necessary to read the sequels. Only, I did because I couldn't not know what Draco had really done and what had happened after.

Landslide by [info]libby_drew
Summary: Teddy has been cursed and Harry is doing everything he possibly can to save him. When Draco finds out, he does too.
Why you want to read this: a beautiful, breathtaking read. The characterisation was perfect and Draco just made so much sense.
Why you don't want to read this: It may make you want to cry.

Life Lessons: The Flying Chapter by [info]dirty_darella
Summary: Draco is not at all happy with Harry suddenly working at the same place as he.
Why you want to read this: it's funny and smutty and has dragons!
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

On a Clear Day by Sara's Girl top five
Summary: Draco needs to persuade Harry to be at a Gala he's organizing, and takes to visit him every day.
Why you want to read this: it's sweet and adorable and fluffy and happy (mostly) and lovely and it makes me very, very happy. There's lovely banter, the cupboard is just brilliant, and their friendship is all sorts of love.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

On the Couch by [info]frayach
Summary: Draco starts "therapy" with Healer Nichols.
Why you want to read this: I quite like the way it's written - it being from Healer Nichol's perspective. It's very fresh. There's also lots of angst and smut (yes, really. Nichols is one nosy bugger.).
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Planes, Champagnes and Chocolate-Chip Pancakes by [info]lotus_lizzy
Summary: Harry and Draco are tailing a man that has presumably stolen the wizard equivalent of a nuke. On a plane.
Why you want to read this: it's hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. And sweet and funny and there's even plot!
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

Says The Magpie To The Morning (Sorrow, Take Your Own Advice) by [info]femmequixotic
Summary: Harry and Draco have been broken up for ten months, when Pansy gives Draco ten magpies.
Why you want to read this: Lovely UST, all the magpies were hilarious (also, I approve of this motif), the smut was brilliant and it was all pretty down to earth and real.
Why you don't want to read this: it was quite angsty, all things considered. Also Draco is a moron (I mean this affectionately, as in, it's all his own bloody fault.)

Small Blessings by [info]oldenuf2nb
Summary: Harry adopts a baby boy whose mother is dead and father is unknown. Five years later, Draco learns that he has a son.
Why you want to read this: it's completely and utterly adorable and fluffy. Harry running an orphanage is probably the cutest thing ever and Draco is just brilliant. So is the boy.
Why you don't want to read this: So. Much. Fluff.

Sæglópur by [info]femmequixotic
Summary: Draco breaks up his fling with Harry when Terry returns from a year long work-related exile. When Terry then dumps Draco, Pansy and Blaise take him to Iceland on holiday in an attempt to sort him out.
Why you want to read this: I really like that Draco actually had feelings for Terry and was upset by the break up, rather than Terry just having been a bob tomato in the way of Harry and Draco's relationship. Also bonus points for the facts about Iceland being accurate (this is the fifth fic i've read that's set in Iceland, and the first one that isn't outrageously inaccurate or stupid).
Why you don't want to read this: first person POV (Draco's). Not bad, though.

Take A Sad Song (And Make It Better) by [info]femmequixotic
Summary: Ginny and Harry are getting a divorce, and Harry is fighting for the right to see his children. Draco Malfoy happens to be the man that has to oversee that.
Why you want to read this: Realism! Also, big bonus points for deafness being accurately depicted. Seriously. Harry is a rad and idiotic dad, though he does try. Draco is wonderful.
Why you don't want to read this: It does take an awful long time for Harry and Draco to get together. Though, it does tie in with realism. Can't complain about that.

The Arc of the Pendulum by [info]brummell
Summary: Lucius casts a fucked up spell on Harry and Draco has to try to put things right.
Why you want to read this: This was advertised as some adaptation of beauty and the beast, which horrified me. However, it is not horrible, there is plot, there are feelings, there is no ooc-ness, there is love and the end is nice.
Why you don't want to read this: It's still a little bit weird. Just a little. Hardly noticeable.

The Future is Unwritten by [info]rickey_a
Summary: Harry and Draco fall into a time chamber and emerge twenty years later, to find life has moved on without them.
Why you want to read this: I like the whole accidental-no-going-back timetravel thing.
Why you don't want to read this: Parts of it felt forced and blunt.

The Incredible Race by [info]dysonrules top five
Summary: Harry and Draco are forced to participate in a global race, as a team, despite the fact (or rather, because) they don't get along.
Why you want to read this: It's TELEVISED. It's hilarious! I love it. I love the televised part, I just have to say that again. I mean come on, I wrote a reality TV fic myself, how can I NOT love this? xD It's brilliant. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY APPROVE. There's attention paid to details and parts of this is so nerdy it's brilliant.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

The Tip of the Icing by [info]megyal top ten
Summary: EWE. Harry is a baker and Draco needs some cakes for his daughter's birthday party.
Why you want to read this: there is cake! there is love! there is more cake! No really, it's very very lovely. Harry has found himself a nice and lovely spot in life after the whole defeating-dark-lords business, making cakes. Draco is a loving and indulging father and overall came out of the war and his past a better person. I've been smiling like an idiot and making happysighs whenever I think of this fic.
Why you don't want to read this: FLUFF. SO MUCH FLUFF.

The Waters of March by Duinn Fionn top ten
Summary: Draco is in St. Mungo's after the war, having literally lost his mind. Harry starts visiting him in an attempt to deal with his survivor's guilt.
Why you want to read this: It's a beautiful story. I love the way it's written and the imagery it creates. It's funny too - there are some brilliant lines in there.
Why you don't want to read this: The end might've been a little bit soppy.

edited to add after july 2011:

Harry's Little Book of Anger by ???
Summary: Hermione got Harry a book to vent his anger in...and Draco finds it.
Why you want to read this: it's hilariously brilliant!
Why you don't want to read this:

The Secret Diary of Draco Malfoy: Aristocrat, Ne'er-do-Well, Rampant Homosexual by Alysian_fields top ten
Summary: Title says it all
Why you want to read this: hilarious, lovely, witty and FUNNY. Draco is adorable in all his obsession and the way his mind runs off with him.
Why you don't want to read this:

Teach Me, Life; Guide Me, Love by [info]kiraohara
Summary: Four year old Draco stumbles over two very special books. They guide him through life's ups and downs.
Why you want to read this: It's lovely, heartwarming and touching. Draco grows so much and it's exhilarating and wonderful to see him through every pain and every joy of his life. A fantastic read and it will sit with me for a long time. Truly stunning.
Why you don't want to read this:

The Silent World Within You by [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic and [livejournal.com profile] noeon
Summary: Harry and Draco have sex on Harry's birthday. It was only meant to be that one time, but Harry soon discovers that he is, in fact, pregnant.
Why you want to read this: If you like mpreg you'll like this. Even if you don't like mpreg, you'll probably like it anyway. It's just the right amount of fluffy and angsty and has a happy ending. The mpreg is dealt with in a good way, in my opinion, and explained in a way that makes sense within the HP universe, so kudos for that.
Why you don't want to read this: if you're really, really, really squicked by mpreg, you probably shouldn't read it, but if you can ignore that part, this is a really sweet read.

Bake Me, I'm Yours by [info]virginia.
Summary: In which Draco is cruelly transformed into a cupcake and falls in the hands of a hungry Harry Potter.
Why you want to read this: This is funny and sweet, all in one. Draco is a wonderful cupcake.
Why you don't want to read this:

The Venice Job by [info]nishizono. top ten
Summary: Harry, denying that he's gay, is sent on an auror mission in Venice with Draco.
Why you want to read this: it's witty and funny and sweet. Yes. The UST isn't very in your face (by that I mean that there are no throbbing cocks every fifth paragraph), there is quiet longing and something that feels like melancholia. I adored this fic. The pace is perfect and everything comes together perfectly in the end. If you want smush, fluff and longing that isn't over the top, and with some humour mixed in, this is definitely a good read.
Why you don't want to read this:

Fast Forward, Two Steps Back by [info]emmagrant01.
Summary: Draco died in the Room of Requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts, but ten years later he re-appears - alive and well...and still seventeen.
Why you want to read this: teacher-student fic done right.
Why you don't want to read this:

Conjugation by [info]hallowdraconis. top ten
Summary: A strange man apparates into the Burrow's living room and Harry takes up the case. At the same time, he's got a wedding approaching he's not sure he wants to follow through with and Draco appears to be more delectable than before...
Why you want to read this: Plotty, well researched, funny, USTy, great characterisations and no easy ways out. It's everything I like in a fanfic, basically. Really enjoyable read.
Why you don't want to read this: Hermione's nickname in his is 'Herm', which makes me twitch.

Then Comes a Mist and a Weeping Rain by [info]faithwood
Summary: Draco accidentally conjured a cloud over his head that just won't stop raining.
Why you want to read this: Sweet and funny. It'll make you smile.
Why you don't want to read this:

Doing the Lambeth Walk by [info]blamebrampton
Summary: There are only three traditional choices for the cashed-up hero after victory. Harry Potter is too young to settle down and provide the wizarding world with a happy ending, and has too acute a sense of humour to spiral downwards into a spectacular flame-out. That leaves a life of good works. Choosing to lead it in Muggle Brixton comes with its own set of challenges, including Malfoys in the biscuit aisle.
Why you want to read this: It's a lovely read. It's sweet, with subtle humour and isn't overly Perfect (that saying, Harry isn't flawless, he's just getting by). Draco is wonderful.
Why you don't want to read this:

Long Hours of Constant Darkness by [livejournal.com profile] kinky_kneazle top ten
Summary: Harry is sent to Antarctica to look for an Evil Weather Wizard. The team to cross the continent is small - and one of them is Draco Malfoy.
Why you want to read this: I loved this fic. It's not your average meet-after-30-years-of-UST-and-fall-in-lurve-and-happily-ever-after. They meet, they become friends, there are ups and downs. The characters make mistakes, there are good moments, the research is absolutely fucking fabulous, the pacing is great and the story was entertaining. It's the sort of fic I want to snuggle with in bed with a cup of hot chocolate and blankets.
Why you don't want to read this:

IDK, My BFF Hermione? by [livejournal.com profile] lettered top ten
Summary: Draco's a hot mess. Harry's lovin' it (hell yes).
Why you want to read this: It's funny and ridiculous, it's porny, but it's also deeper than that. There are tropes and meta and moral and gives you a bit of food for thought. It's an intense, yet light, story. Also, dirty talk.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

The Swaggering Plimpies (or, This One Time, At Quidditch Camp…) by [livejournal.com profile] rurounihime ([livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays)
Summary: Draco has an idea, and Harry’s just the one to help him.
Word Count: 29,438
Why you want to read this: It's a lovely and fluffy (with light angst mixed in) and realistic fic about two people who want so very much and are slightly awkward and slightly breathless and are trying to balance their family life with their newfound love - in short: it'll make you smile and your heart burst. The characters are all wonderfully fleshed out and all get a little time in the spotlight. Harry and Draco as devoted fathers = ♥ and their children = ♥ Not to be missed.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

The Boy Who Lived Only Twice by [livejournal.com profile] lettered ([livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays) top five
Summary: Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.
Word Count: 56k
Why you want to read this: BECAUSE THIS FIC IS SO GOOD IT HURTS. On several occasions where I thought 'oh, now this is going to happen' it didn't happen and the fic carried on, realistically and brilliantly and made me smile so so so much because when you encounter good writing and good characterisation and good plot in a perfectly sized fic, that's all you can do. Hands down the best H/D fic I've read in a long while. Also, I do have a soft spot for oblivious!harry and Draco in this makes me hurt a little, but it's all so so so good. Big bonus points for not letting the UST overrule everything, including their professional relationship.
Why you don't want to read this: N/A

We Are Young (I'll Carry You Home Tonight) by [livejournal.com profile] femmequixotic ([livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays)
Summary: Harry and Draco have been falling into bed on and off again since the last election five years ago, much to the amusement--and financial gain--of their circle of friends. But when Harry agrees to work with Draco to put Kingsley Shacklebolt into the Minister's office, they can't work side-by-side again every day and sleep together; that would be courting disaster. Wouldn't it?
Word Count: ~69,000
Why you want to read this: Because this was lovely. Love the politics, the UST and the characterisation. Blaise was precious. <3 Even Lucius was a believable and well fleshed out character. THE KITTEN. Draco and Harry were wonderful here, with their wants and pains and love.
Why you don't want to read this: first person pov. not really my cup of tea, but sometimes it works.

At Your Service by [livejournal.com profile] faithwood ([livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays)
Summary: Hogwarts students are in danger; Harry is determined to save them all. There's only one thing he knows for certain: Draco Malfoy is somehow involved.
Word Count: ~96,000 (no, it's not a typo, sorry)
Why you want to read this: the best 8th year fic I've read in a long while. at 96k it's actually well paced, plotted and written. the romance does take a while to develop into something substantial, but it's definitely there, with hints from the beginning. the mystery plot is brilliant, with lots of detail that prevents even the attentive reader getting bored. the characters are great. <3 all nuanced and IC and ohgod, Harry, never ever change. oblivious!Harry is a favourite of mine and here he's done beautifully. Draco, tormented, fragile and yet strong, made me ache a little, but oh. <3
Why you don't want to read this:

The Way Down by [livejournal.com profile] lettered top ten
Summary: Malfoy’s all, “Come out of there,” the way you say to a cat who is badly behaved. And Harry’s all like, “No, what, I’m a hermit! And I have a chest-monster! And I am crazy magically powerful!” and Malfoy’s all, “We all have problems, bub.” (thoughtfully) “You are crazy though. I’ll give you that.”
Word count: 70k
Why you want to read this: because this is a beautiful story, interspersed with humour. Broken men, Harry's chest-monster and Malfoy and the field with no road and the struggle to be human.

The Pure and Simple Truth by [livejournal.com profile] lettered
Summary: Harry, Draco, and Hermione go to a pub. Harry, Draco, and Pansy go to a pub. Harry, Draco, Pansy, and Hermione go to a pub. Harry, Draco, Hermione and Ron go to a pub. Harry, Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Pansy―you guessed it―go to a pub. I could go on. In fact, I did. Harry, Draco, Hermione, Pansy, Ron, Blaise, Luna, Goyle, Neville, and Theodore Nott go to a pub. In various combinations.
Word count: 70k
Why you want to read this: A 70k fic that's all talking? Might sound daunting, but it's actually very lovely. It struck a Drop Dead Gorgeous chord with me - I think it's the way Harry focuses on Draco and aspects of Draco, and the way their bond develops - which I'm hesitant to say, because it's not a bad thing and DDG is one of my favourite fics. It's just, it's beautiful. And it might be pretty much "just gen" but it doesn't matter. The relationships (incl. friendships) in this fic are fantastic and rocky and fabulous and hard-won. Life isn't easy and Life post-war isn't easy, and this fic is all about that. Also, it's humorous and made me laugh on several occasions, which is always a good thing.

Turn by [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl
Summary: One good turn always deserves another. Harry is torn out of his normal life and into the life he could've had, had he done a few things differently in his life.
Word count: 335k or so
Why you want to read this: If you're fond of having your heart broken on multiple occasions (only to have it mended again) this is a good read. It's funny, sweet and heartwarming, down to earth and wonderful. Well written, well paced, lovely characterisations. Reading this is like watching a whole world unfold.

Broom, Bee and Rose by A WONDERFUL PERSON ([livejournal.com profile] hds_beltane)
Rating: R
Warnings: *dubious consent *
Story notes: Language, sexual situations, violence
Word count: 15,000
Summary: The life of an Auror isn’t all roses, especially when you get in trouble for doing your job. Even more so when you wind up partnered with a know-it-all pureblood who is convinced these minor thefts are just the edge of something much more insidious.
Why you want to read this: Because this is a brilliant and clever fic. I'm not saying this just because it was written for me (and oh, it did touch so many buttons), but because I enjoyed every minute of it - the banter, the UST, the ingenious expansions to the existing magical world, the plot (oh, plot <3), draco's hideous green tea lattes and the slight AUness and and and. It's a wonderful read and I recommend hot chocolate (or other warm comfort food beverage) to go with it.

Why you want to read this: This is H/D just as I like it. <3 sweet and domestic and a little bit of a chase. It's a fluffy little thing and I love it to pieces, not only because it was written for me, but because it's just so good.

Summary: Harry thinks "Why is Malfoy working in a coffee shop in muggle London?" is a much simpler question than, "Are you going to accept that auror offer and, if you don't, what will you do?"
Why you want to read this: I loved this fic ridiculously much ♥ it's everyting I want in a getting-together fic, basically, with humour and snark and insight and character. It's beautiful, rich tale, and I'm just so happy now, deep in my gut, after reading it, that I don't anything could possibly get me down. ♥ I loved it already from the beginning and it was a growing love and I'm just so. full of love. And happiness. ♥
I really liked Ginny in this. I pretty much loved everyone - everyone was a human being, with flaws and character and opinions and it was just so... I don't even know. it was funny and full of insight and realistic. I see that some people think it's a bit too slow, but I don't think so at all - I think their relationship progressed very naturally and I was so glad there wasn't any angst at the end because I'm quite honestly sick of that trope. (And I caught a few jabs at other tropes - though that might just be me reading them as jabs. For example when Harry thinks it's the opposite of what he expected when Ron was being supportive and Hermione not, because most fics seem to have Ron be the anti-Malfoy one and Hermione the 'totally go for it, Harry!' type. It made me giggle rather gleefully. XD) All in all, i'm super happy this fic exists. It was a feast.

this fic is awesome because it's really hard to find good infidelity fics - that is to say, the sort that aren't full of cliches or have weird characterisation and unnecessary drama and idk, weird things. this one was absolutely delightful. there were no villains and no good guys, just people. IT'S REALLY GOOD YOU SHOULD READ IT i just love it so much, i'm all giddy and grinning and happy because GOOD FIC. GOOD. FIC.

i really liked this one and i can't even explain why? i just enjoyed it lots. but ok i've got to be honest, i was a leetle bit disappointed when i found out draco SPOILER and it didn't evolve into, well, feels. i made a sad noise when SPOILER (even if i'd suspected something was up) and then went "ohhyes this is going to make me CRY this is good" and kinda burrowed into my blanket a bit more, but then it kind of became a non-issue and everything was fluff and nothing hurt and i felt a bit cheated out of my tears. BUT IT'S STILL GOOD FIC.

Collect Your Courage by [livejournal.com profile] mervab
this one is another delightful fic and the reason why is because, above all, harry has to earn the right to draco. how many fics have you lot read where it's always draco who has to prove himself to harry, prove he's changed and is better and blah blah and only then will harry have him? well in this one it's upside down. harry's a gigantic arsehole douchebag prick and draco ditches him because come on. and i just loved that because it's different and i love that draco turned the tables and i love everything. mostly i think i love lavender. she's awesome.

The Ties That Bind by [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_writing
in which harry and draco have to raise teddy together! ok so i had some issues with this one, but they were minor and i should stop being a picky reader. this fic is super cute and while some things made me go all 'oh really', the intent was clear and i do like fics which address issues instead of sweeping them under the carpet. the plot was a bit sporadic? idk, i felt like it would've benefited from one subplot instead of three, but it's not really a big deal. i liked the variety and particularly the last one was really intriguing and super cool. that's the one i'd love to see expanded.
