nerakrose: drawing of balfour from havemercy (are you insane?)
[personal profile] nerakrose
Because I just recced these over at [livejournal.com profile] the_ass_ship and because I really should've compiled a reclist ages ago...

Alphabetic order. This is just the beginning as I've read many more; I just need to, erh, hunt them down and all...

Irradiance by [livejournal.com profile] melusinahp. written for nextgendarkfest.
Word Count: 48,400
Pairing: Albus Severus/Scorpius
Warnings: Sex between consenting teens starting at age 15, character death
Summary: Al starts Hogwarts knowing exactly who he is and what he wants from life. When the things he takes for granted fall away, he holds fast to the one truth that remains -- he loves Scorpius and he'll do whatever it takes to keep him safe.
Why you want to read this:
It's...hands down, the most beautiful and touching and heartwrenching fic I've ever read. It sounds lame but it is beautiful. Scorpius here goes mad, to put it simply, but it's the pain that causes his madness, and the pain that fuels the madness that makes you sit there with your heart in your throat and tears in your eyes as you read, but it's not only that, it's the love that fuels the pain that really spurns it on. Not to mention Al, Al in this is fantastic and his pain and love... I don't even know what I'm saying. I'll just stress that it's NOT a happy read, but it's beautiful and it's worth it. Somewhat happy ending (depending on how you look at it - I'd say hopeful ending).

Folie a deux by persepolis130
Summary: Scorpius Malfoy wears a permanent invisibility cloak and
dreams of growing wings. Al wishes he were half that cool (and has the
nail polish to prove it).
Word count: 60k
Why you want to read this: Folie a deux is a mental disorder in which one person goes mad and another person mimics the madness. None of the boys are suffer from it, but Scorpius has clearly some issues and some eccentricities and Albus adores and loves him and does many of the same things as Scorpius does. I adore this fic for the depth and sort of poetic feel there is to it and also because boys in makeup are love. ♥ Happy ending.
Why you don't want to read this: it's got fleeting moments of Rose/Scorpius and also H/D on the side.

Runway by [info]ficbycam
Word Count: ~50,000
Rating: NC-17 Overall
Warnings: Many instances of graphic sex. And most of this might as well be a non-magic AU, as it's not overly wizardy. But you're not reading for the spells, are you? You're reading for the hot male models shagging, yes? Thought so.
Summary: Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy find themselves as contestants and roommates on a Muggle reality television show, "The Next Great Supermodel." Scorpius has a crush, Al is in some serious denial as to his sexual orientation, and their relationship is definitely complicated by wannabe hags, fetish-wear photo shoots, and treacherous fellow models who really want to win.
Why you want to read this: because the premise is fantastic. The fic's long, which is delicious, and smutty, which is even better, and just all around a very fun and enjoyable read. Happy ending.

The World Below Us by [livejournal.com profile] lemondrop34
Rating: NC-17 for many good reasons.
Summary: Al Potter doesn’t believe in love. Scorpius Malfoy does.
Word count: 112k
Why you want to read this: This is one of my absolute favourite AS/S fics. They're both quidditch players and Al wants Score
for fuckbuddy. Score is a widower and Al turns out to have some issues of his own, so this is basically the story of how they meet, get attracted, fuck, get involved, issues are laid bare / revealed, eventually dealt with, etc. I love this fic because it's realistic in its portrayal of trauma and loss and human feeling and defense mechanisms and the characterisations are wonderful. Happy ending.
Why you don't want to read this: well, if you're short of time, don't get started on this :P

Tonight we may lose the battle by femmequixotic
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: boys in vintage couture, girls in metallic halters, chorus in the dressing room
Summary: "Why?" I ask after a moment. "Why didn't you come back?"
Word Count: ~7000
Why you want to read this: I love the language in this one. It all seems very matter of fact but there's this smouldering passion underneath everything. Also I love Scorpius in a dress. Cross-dressing, gender-bending boys in make-up are a favourite of mine, especially when confident in their own skin.
