nerakrose: keep calm and write something (keep calm and write something)
I'm on the bus to Helsinki right now (and have thus been travelling for almost four hours already), and have been spending the time wisely. :p but before I get to the [livejournal.com profile] hd_erised recs:

GetYourWordsOut: Year Nine!
Pledges & Requirements | GYWO.net

The other day I put in my pledge to write 200k next year. I've been doing gywo since 2012, always the 150k pledge, and have actually yet to make it... I came closest in 2012, with 130k words, and this year (at 90k) is the most I've written in a year since then. I wanted a bigger push and a daily writing goal that was about 500 words or more, and given how many things I'm writing atm (a novel and a bunch of novellas), 200k seems like the right challenge to push me to get it all done. So here's to 2017! *raises metaphorical glass*

Title: Spelling It Out
Artist: Anonymous
Recipient:[livejournal.com profile] marysiakPairing(s): Harry/Draco
Rating: PG
Art Medium: Digital/Photoshop
Summary: Harry charms Draco.
Artist's Notes: Apologies for the puns.
Why you should look at this: This is really pretty and really lovely to boot. I love the colour scheme (and the pink of the spell!) and perspective, and how they look like they're about to float off into euphoria.

A Ghost in the Garden (27175 words) by Anonymous
Rating: Explicit

Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Characters: Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Pansy Parkinson, Millicent Bulstrode, Gregory Goyle, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Charlie Weasley, Cormac McLaggen, Dean Thomas
Additional Tags: Aurors, Auror Partners, casefic, Pining, Awkward Bed Sharing, Sexual Tension, Snark, society shenanigans, Dragons, Alcohol Abuse, Mentions of Violence, Community: hd_erised, Ghosts
Summary: That night Draco dreams, and he is the ghost in his garden. He is both silvered figment and his own solid and flesh face pressing against the window, watching. Spinning and spun, haunting and haunted. Turned and turning, an open mouth with no sound.

Harry and Draco are thrown together on an investigation into a sinister political movement.

Why you should read this: This was kind of hauntingly beautiful? I remember I stayed up to finish it and then because I couldn't find words to comment on it just then, left it till morning and then made a halfassed job of it. It's really, really lovely, in a melancholic and almost poetic way. I loved how draco's alcoholism was portrayed (very subtle), and how he and Harry came together in an imperfect way. Very good read. Not really fluffy, but it's not a terribly angsty fic either, in my opinion.

Bound To You (28133 words) by Anonymous

Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Characters: Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy
Additional Tags: Accidental Bonding, Cursed Bonding, Curse Breaker Draco Malfoy, Cartographer Harry Potter, unusual careers, lots of sass, Mild Angst, Pining, Slow Burn, Community: hd_erised
Summary: Hag magic is capricious and unruly, and Harry and Draco are bound to stay by each other’s side until they can solve the riddle. In between long car trips, misty rain, and midnight star charts, they begin to understand each other.
Why you should read this: Curse fic! I love cursefics tbh, and while accidental bonding isn't my thing, I thought this was really great, and well done too. Surprise!godric/salazar, though I'm not going to spoil how that comes into play. It was brilliant. I also really loved the magic in this fic, and Harry as a cartographer. It's oddly fitting. (Also I'll never tire of Cursebreaker!draco.)
