i'm skipping day 4 as that's the 'interact with someone new' prompt, and given how many new people i've friended lately i'm a) covered and b) reaching a point where i'm socially fed up. :p that being said, i'm unlikely to deny a friend request if somebody comes along and desperately wants to make new friends. for those who missed it or are newer than new, there's a brief introduction post a few entries back.

Day 5

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create.

i have some more [livejournal.com profile] hd_erised recs to make before reveals go up on monday.

Lift Your Open Hand (18752 words) by Anonymous
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Additional Tags: Accidental Bonding, Bedsharing, Forced Proximity, Bickering, Banter, Community: hd_erised, maybe slight dub-con for drunken snogging, Consensual Canoodling, Auror Training, bookshops, Bars and Pubs, Harry's Canonical Chest Monster, Semi-Public Frotting, First Kisses, Domesticity
Summary: With Draco Malfoy as his assigned partner for the next six weeks of Auror training, Harry had been prepared for things to go poorly. But getting themselves accidentally bonded to each other in the first twenty minutes of their very first assignment seemed going above and beyond, even for them.
Why you should read this: This was so cute and lovely! The banter between Harry and Draco was great. I also loved how supportive Ron and Hermione were (and particularly that Ron thought they were already together!), the slow build and all the kissing at the end ♥ I also particularly loved that there was very little UST to speak of.

And, On The Other Side, A Welcoming Voice (38757 words) by Anonymous
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Characters: Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Dennis Creevey, Parvati Patil, Padma Patil, Narcissa Black Malfoy
Additional Tags: Post-War, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, HP: EWE, Discussion of canon and post-canon deaths, Community: hd_erised
Summary: For twenty years, the official history has told readers that Harry Potter died at the Battle of Hogwarts. The next edition is going to require some significant revisions.
Why you should read this: this was wonderful! i loved it very much. the slow build of trust and camaraderie between harry and draco (and the love, of course), the way they all worked together to get harry out, the casual killing a couple of times a week (!!!) which had me laugh out loud so many times, and also just shake my head in general, the potterites (omg). i had to shed a few tears at the end there, as it was simply too lovely all around. i adore it.

i know that's not three, but i currently don't have any other recs to make.

things!

nerakrose: calvin and hobbes dancing in joy (hellfuckingyes)
first of all, i just wanted to link to the H/D writers friending meme. i don't think there's any H/D people on my flist who don't know of it, but well :P

then there's the rec party at [livejournal.com profile] 00q_bb...i need to get my arse in gear and go rec something. it's a little slow but i think that's the holidays speaking...

and then there's the snowflake challenge (snowflake_challenge), which i thought looked interesting. i haven't done anything for it (obv) and i've been a little busy, but it's saturday and i have the weekend off. i'm probably not gonna do ALL the challenges and i really cannot be arsed reporting back to the comm to say i did it, but hey - let's see how it goes.

day 1 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

1) Indiana Lupin and the Search for the Conqueror (NC-17, Remus/Sirius, 67k)
I think this will always be one of my favourite works. <3 it's adventure! and crack! and porn! seriously, what more do you want?

2) Here Now, Gone Yesterday (or Back To The Future) (R, Teddy/James, Remus/Sirius, 21k)
This is a more recent fic of mine, but i do love it very much. it's maybe one of the more 'representative' works of mine? or not? because i write different things, but what i like about this one is that it's very clearly about relationships and family and then i just went and threw a bucket of angst at it. And the one thing i *do* like to write about is family and relationships, so there's that.

3) He Eats Snow For Breakfast (PG-13, Avengers gen, 25k)
I'm really only linking to this one because i'm still in the phase of 'i just finished a long piece of work and i'm all giddy about it' :P but also because i tried something new with this one, but like i said before, i like to write about people and relationships.

day 2 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate
them.

1) The perks of Constancy by superpol (Mature, Bond/Q, 6k)
Asexual!Q. That is all. (I liked it also for other reasons, but there's not enough ace!fic out there. and this one is lovely. <3)

2) Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Mob Bosses by kleinefee92 (Teen and up, Hank/Alex (XMFC), 41k)
I think this is the only piece of work in which there's a likeable Scott Summers. he's a child, so that explains it. XD this is an adorable and lovely fic and i just can't with all the cute and i love Hank and Alex so much (he's a dance instructor!) and baby Scott and baby Logan and akdghjafkkakfssfksdfksjgksjgfkjsdsgadækljfsdfbhfvcjajclddjsjadlsfjkdsfdnkasjfhksjghskjhfldskjfkdffk*ded*

3) you, maybe not essentially you, somebody else by dorcas_gustine (Mature, Tony/Jensen (the losers/avengers crossover), 10k)
there is nothing about this fic which is not perfect.
