It's Sunday and I need to get back to uni to put in some work on my thesis, but it's Sunday so I indulged in fic this morning before I got out of bed. This currently anon from the Draco tops Harry fest fic was in the hot recs in the daily snitch, which crossed my dash (I love that the daily snitch has a tumblr now, ngl), and when I checked it out how could I resist the promise of almost-50 retired beekeeping Harry? I swear it's become a theme with me, or something, but I just really love mature H/D fics and if they have an element of nature in them I'm also completely sold. And I'm not sorry.

Late Bloomers (12979 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter
Characters: Hermione Granger, Blaise Zabini, Ron Weasley, Narcissa Black Malfoy, Ginny Weasley
Summary:

Harry always thought he had a pretty satisfying array of sexual fantasies, until he stumbles upon the Mirror of Erised again and sees himself getting banged senseless by Draco Malfoy. Now he can't stop thinking about it, and that summer almost twenty years ago when he'd come to know Malfoy very well indeed.

Why you want to read this: This is beautiful. And so well written that I barely even noticed how smutty the fic is (I usually skip the smutty parts of fic). I love Harry, almost fifty, figuring out what he wants and where he belongs (though he knew all along), and wanting to rekindle what he had with Draco in the past. I love how easy their relationship with each other was/is, despite (or because of?) everything. I love how calm this fic is, how it just flows. I love Harry's friendship with ginny, even though they're finalising their divorce. I love Harry's friendships. I love his bees and his connection with them. This is a magical fic and a magical read, and it's an instant favourite. A real treat.
